Warren Sapp "Ain't Lying" About Colin Kaepernick's Horrible Workout, according to LaVar Arrington
LaVar Arrington, a former NFL linebacker, seems to have agreed with legendary Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp when he said that Colin Kaepernick's workout with the Las Vegas Raiders was a complete failure.
Arrington admitted to Fox Sports Radio that his longtime buddy and coworker Warren Sapp was telling the truth, despite the fact that he had no firsthand knowledge of Kaepernick's practice with the Raiders.
"I'm fairly familiar with Sapp... He isn't lying, according to Arrington. Sapp is not, however, a liar. You know people in the organization if you've played for it. There are some sites where you can find information that you might not otherwise find.
"Sapp played for the Raiders, and Sapp undoubtedly has a connection with a few members of the team. Sapp wouldn't have mentioned it at all if he hadn't known about it, heard about it, or had a conversation with someone who worked there, the expert continued.
Arrington pointed out that without intimate knowledge, neither Sapp nor the interviewer, Vlad, would have discussed Kaepernick's workout.
"Well, we spoke to the Raiders organization and Sapp didn't," the agent may claim. Sapp might not have spoken with the individuals that YOU did, but that doesn't mean he didn't speak with others within the organization who A) either knew the results of the evaluation from other evaluators or B) spoke directly with the individuals conducting the exercise and obtained that information directly. He is not inventing that, said Arrington.
The public hasn't been given much details about Colin Kaepernick's alleged workout with the Raiders from May of last year, other than a brief statement from the organization that it "went well" and that the "door is open" for a potential deal.
Rumors that the exercise had went poorly and that Kaepernick had little chance of being signed by the Raiders quickly propagated in the weeks that followed. When he claimed on VladTV over the weekend that the exercise was a "disaster," Warren Sapp added gasoline to the already burning fire.
"I'd heard it was a catastrophe. It's been said to be among the worst exercises ever. Sapp remarked, "I'm wondering how the hell this happened and the tape didn't get out.
Sapp further emphasized the dubious nature of the Raider's silence on the situation by not releasing a video or a more comprehensive statement.
Kaepernick's agent, Jeff Nalley, refuted Sapp's assertion in a statement to NBC Sports, saying the Raiders indicated Kap "was in terrific shape" despite the fact that he hasn't played professional football in six years.
Nalley guessed that Warren hadn't spoken to the GM or the head coach. "I spoke to the G.M. [Dave Zieger] multiple times, and he said that everyone believed Kap was in terrific shape and threw the ball pretty well. He also encouraged any team to call him about the workout, and he would give them the same report," said Zieger.
Nalley remained silent regarding the Raiders' decision to withhold a video of Kaepernick's workout.
